Matt Dapolito, founder of NonProfit Fiscal Services, had an interesting business model. He realized that many nonprofit organizations couldn’t afford to hire a credentialed accounting staff. Nonetheless, they needed the expertise that CPAs could offer. His solution was to offer part-time accounting services, including CFOs and controllers, to nonprofits on an outsourced, contractual basis. In effect, each accountant would work for more than one nonprofit and NPFM’s clients would all benefit from sharing high-level resources for a fraction of their full costs. Matt asked us for a new website that would convey his main selling points: competence, reasonable costs and the peace of mind that comes from having top-notch talent perform an organization’s accounting work.
We settled on a “long page” design that would tout NPFM’s professional staff and suite of services. The site was based on existing marketing materials that were supporting the company’s business development efforts. The content was developed to illustrate the key benefits NPFM offered its clients. Because NPFM’s business model was distinctive, we added a page dedicated to explaining it. We also worked to improve the company’s ranking in search by optimizing the site’s content (text and images).
NPFM now uses its website to better support its clients and business development efforts and to better communicate the benefits of its service offerings. Part of NPFM’s philosophy is to grow with its clients. To that end, NPFM showcased its clients’ websites on its website, and included it’s clients front and center on its main page.
