Instructions for Uploading Images to the WordPress Media Library 2017-01-25T13:49:53+00:00

When uploading images to the WordPress Image Library, please follow these guidelines:

File Names

Please use the following file naming convention:

{organization (one word)}_{pagename (one word)}_{subject of image (multiple words separated by dashes)}

As an example, an image uploaded by Acme Ladder and Scaffolding, Inc. for use on its “Mission and Vision” page, and depicting the owner, Robert Johnson demonstrating a ladder to kids at a local elementary school should be named:

acme_mission_robert-johnson-with-local-school-children.jpg

Note:  Naming files in this manner will also help with SEO!

Orientation / Proportions / Aspect Ratio

If the space where you intend to insert an image is portrait (taller than it is wide), don’t select an image that is landscape (wider than it is tall).

Editing Images

If help with content is not included under your Buzzquake contract, any time spent editing / resizing / cropping / “Photoshopping” images will be billed at $75/hour.
